Hai cột mốc quan trọng trong nghiên cứu nguồn gốc tiếng Việt/ Two critical milestones on research the origins of Vietnamese, pp.64-75

Abstract: This paper presents an analysis of the scientific assumption, role, value and significance on studying history of the Vietnamese language and its genetic relation in three works: Researching the history of Annam phonetic: the initials (Etudes sur la langue Annamite phonetique historique de la. Les initiales) by H. Maspero, 1912; The position of Vietnamese in Austroasiatic languages (La place du dans les langues Vietnamien Austroasiatique) in 1953 and On the Origin of Vietnamese tones (De l’origine des tons and en Vietnamien) in 1954 by AG. Haudricourt.
The findings show that basing on the methods, results and the turing-point landmark changes in the perception and research realities on the related topics, these works deserve to be the two critical significant milestones in the researching Vietnamese up to date.
